Intrinsic Value

Recognizing the infinite value of the unique and irreplaceable worth of others as the highest order of value is the key to making better, clear and well balanced value decisions in our personal and business life.

Intrinsic Value in the World Dimension: this dimension measures an individuals capacity to see, understand and accept others as they are.

What Is Valued: That which is beyond measure, the personal or spiritual value; defined by an infinite number of properties which can be valued in an infinite number of ways. Personal, individual value; the infinite value, irreplacability and worth of individuals; value of identification, of individuality. The thing itself, in its' own unique individuality. It relates to "knowingness" to the "intuitive" and to the sensing of the essence of our experiences.

We translate all this to a measurement of one's capacity to deal effectively on issues of Empathy and Intuition. Depending on an individuals Attention, Balance and Clarity in this dimension, we see very different ways of interpreting events and consequently, in the divisions people make and actions they take.

Attention: Those who undervalue the intrinsic dimension (pay too little attention) tend to be more reserved or even distant in their relationships, often experiencing difficulty being open. Those who overvalue this dimension (pay too much attention) may be too open and accepting or possibly even be gullible. Knowing the value one places on the intrinsic is critical to understanding how they will relate to others and how likely they are to listen to their own "inner" direction.

Balance: Keeping a balance between over and under valuing enables us to see both sides of things; the positive and negative, the strengths and weaknesses, the optimistic and the pessimistic, the possibilities or limitations in all of our life experiences. The stronger our bias, in one direction or the other, the more likely it will color our thinking and limit our capacity to make balanced decisions. With intrinsic value, balance is often reflected in one's ability to develop comfortable working relationships with wide and diverse groups of people. Clarity: Those with excellent clarity are far more likely to have the capacity to understand what's really going on. They will be more capable of recognizing the breadth and depth of characteristics that must be considered when it is necessary make sound judgments about others. Those with a relatively lower capacity for discernment are more likely to see people as all good or all bad depending on the direction of their attention.

Implications of World Intrinsic Value: Being able to consistently make sound judgments about others is critical to success in every organization. Having this talent is especially important in upper level management, in human resources and in customer driven sales to mention only the most obvious. The Value Profile can help identify and develop those with the talents you need.
